Yes. Every account starts with a 30-day free trial of Solo — one active project with Solo's full capabilities, no credit card required. It's enough to run a real project through the full workflow and see exactly what LODE produces. Pick a plan anytime during or after the trial.

Capacity, mostly. Every plan gets the whole product — the compiler, markup and live review, the full project lifecycle, Sketch Paper, guest access — and tiers differ on how much project you can run: active projects, seats, storage, and AI messages. Two DOC capabilities are the exception: reading specification text needs Field or above, and answering on a drawing or on a region you box needs Studio.

Your files are stored securely for as long as your subscription is active. If you need to stop paying, Archive (from $9/mo, priced by the plan you’re leaving) holds the account while it runs. Archive is download-only: you can export the whole account, and you can restore to a paid plan and get everything back as it was, but projects stay closed while it runs. Archive keeps everything, cheaply, in deep cold storage, and getting it back takes 12 to 48 hours - which is exactly why it costs a fraction of a live plan. Your drawings move into deep cold storage when Archive starts, so an export or a restore is prepared rather than instant: ask for either whenever you like and we email you the download link when it is built, typically within 12 to 48 hours. Records (projects, revisions, annotations, comments and registers) stay in the database and come back immediately. Cold storage is also a per-project choice you can make on any paid plan, with the same retrieval time, and the app says so before you do it. Cancel Archive, or fully cancel, and the same window applies — the data is kept for 30 days, then permanently deleted. There is no pause.

Yes. Submittals and attachments a contractor uploads through the portal are stored on your project, so they count toward your plan’s storage the same way your own files do. The contractor portal says so too. Storage is the one thing a busy submittal register can move quickly, so it is worth knowing before it surprises you — and additional capacity is available without changing tier.

LODE is optimized for construction drawing sets in PDF format. It works with any PDF, though sheet detection accuracy is highest with digitally produced drawings. OCR fallback handles scanned sets.

When DOC is enabled, document metadata and extracted sheet text are processed to generate answers and summaries. They are not stored beyond that processing session and are never used for model training of any kind.
