Financials

The money follows the record.

Every pay application is an argument about documents: what the contract says, what the change orders added, what the last application certified. In LODE the money arc lives on the same record as the drawings — the award seeds the contract sum, changes graduate through a visible chain, and the G702 summary completes its own arithmetic as you type.

This is a tab on every LODE project, not a separate product. Financials runs on the same record the drawings live on — nothing is exported to it, nothing drifts from it.

Pay applications, on the G702 summary

The signed G702/G703 PDF is the record; the G702 summary lines sit beside it, per contract group, penny-precise. A register of every application with its period, status, and certified amounts. LODE does not rebuild the G703 line by line — the contractor’s continuation sheet stays the contractor’s.

Arithmetic that does itself

The G702 summary declares its identities on its face, so the derivable lines fill themselves as you enter the others — contract sum to date, total earned less retainage, current payment due, balance to finish. Typing takes a line over; clearing it hands it back.

The change chain

Change events graduate to proposed change orders, and PCOs to executed change orders — with the PCO ↔ CO calculator keeping the math honest at every step. Net change flows straight into the next application.

Retainage, tracked

Retainage carried per application, visible in the arithmetic — not a number someone remembers to apply at the end.

Awards & contract groups

Multi-GMP projects pick their GMP and span every award; lump sum rides the same lane for projects bid on paper. Backup files attach to the award they support.

Certification & review

Applications are reviewed in rounds with a visible clock, and the certification chain is explicit — who certified what, when, against which application.

From “that’ll cost extra” to an executed order.

Money changes hands on paper trails, and the trail usually breaks between the field conversation and the executed change order. LODE keeps the whole chain on the record: the event that started it, the proposed order that priced it, the executed order that settled it — each stage linked to the documents that justify it.

  • Change events logged the day they happen, before anyone prices anything
  • The PCO ↔ CO calculator keeps proposed and executed math reconciled
  • Executed orders update the contract sum — and the next G702 already knows
  • Every stage cites the record: the ASI, the sheet, the RFI that triggered it
